Biofeedback: The solution for digestive problems.
No one actually wants to have a talk about gastric irritation, but it is also a known truth that we all have experienced digestive problems. In this situation, biofeedback becomes a powerful technique that greatly helps patients suffering from diarrhea, constipation, reflux, and other uncommon intestinal problems which may require Biofeedback and Bioresonance therapy for digestive difficulties.
SOME OF THE MOST COMMON DIGESTIVE PROBLEMS
DIARRHEA
Diarrhea is something that no one wants to understand or even talk about. In first-world nations, diarrhea is looked at as a slight problem or simply a sign that one is sick. True enough, it can really be a sign of some underlying diseases and health problems. On the other hand, constipation and reflux can trigger complications that can be fatal.
Diarrhea is a kind of gastrointestinal disease. In developing countries, it is the second most popular cause of death to young children. In the US alone, it killed an average of 372 young children yearly and causes about 200,000 a year to be hospitalized.
CONSTIPATION
This is among the most frequent digestive problems. Surprisingly, it is sometimes complicated to treat. Constipation affects about 42 million individuals in the US (often has a clearly defined cause). For pregnant women, those in the postpartum state, older adults, and those who are on treatment for depression or pain are more likely to suffer constipation.
At some point, constipation, constipation can be a symptom of a greater problem. Sometimes, other circumstances such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), hypothyroidism, intestinal obstruction, nerve damage, Parkinson disease, or cancer can arise in constipation. This is why it is of great importance to see a doctor when suffering from severe constipation that does not respond to at-home treatments. When suffering from constipations that come with swollen abdomen, bloody stool, vomiting, or weight loss, visit a doctor.
REFLUX
Reflux that comes with related complaints such as GERD and heartburn can be a major problem. In a Swedish study, 6% of people have been reported experiencing acid reflux on a daily basis and 14% at least once a week.
On the other hand, heartburn may appear like a minor concern, but aside from the discomfort that comes with it, it can also cause some important complications. Problems with the esophagus (esophagitis, narrowing of the esophagus, and enhanced risk of esophageal cancer) can result from uncontrolled reflux, as well as dental problems, vocal problems, and respiratory conditions. For this reason, it’s necessary to treat reflux seriously.
The Use of Biofeedback
REFLUX
Biofeedback has been put to use on pediatric and adult reflux situations, often with remarkable results. There have been case studies demonstrating the biofeedback resulted in a great improvement in gastroesophageal reflux and biofeedback has been used for esophageal motility disorders since the 1970’s. But, reflux is often a symptom of a larger problem, so isolating the precise mechanism of reflux can be problematic in attributing growth to biofeedback alone.
CONSTIPATION
Many studies have been carried out on the use of biofeedback for constipation, especially when that constipation results from pelvic floor dyssynergia. These studies do indicate certain outcomes, although there is a need for larger and more closely controlled studies to find out the exact principles behind the returns.
DIARRHEA
Biofeedback has found useful in the treatment of fecal incontinence (which often shows as a side effect of chronic diarrhea) and it shows some promise in the management of diarrhea that has no obvious cause. Of course, the goal with diarrhea is usually to treat the underlying cause of the diarrhea (often a bacterial, viral, or parasitic infection), so chronic diarrhea without an underlying cause is unusual and hard to study with an adequate sample size.
